Fighter
Identity
The Fighter is the purest expression of physical defense: a front‑line specialist built to withstand punishment and command enemy attention. Their strength comes not from magic or supernatural force, but from discipline, training, and the instinctive understanding of how to survive in the thick of a fight.
Their approach to battle relies on practiced stances that shift their strengths to match the situation. These aren’t magical transformations, but the refined habits of a veteran who knows how to read a battlefield. Their presence is reinforced by powerful shouts that rally allies or unsettle foes, giving them a small but meaningful layer of utility.
What sets the Fighter apart is their ability to anticipate danger. They can brace against incoming harm, shrug off threats, and disrupt enemies with crushing physical force. Their strikes can weaken armor, stagger opponents, and create openings that turn the tide of melee engagements.
In a group, the Fighter is the anchor. No other class holds enemy attention as reliably, and no other front‑liner maintains control with the same consistency. Their combination of durability, pressure, and presence makes them the default choice for any ambitious adventuring party.
Defining Traits
Fights exclusively with melee weapons, utilizing a shield for tanking and dual-wield or two‑handed weapons for damage
Has a strong toolkit of physical debuffs and preventative counters to incoming damage
Operates on a shared cooldown pool that forces meaningful choices in each combat cycle, with stances that shift the kit toward offense, defense, or control
Performs best against melee opponents and gains additional value when defending due to retaliatory mechanics
Possesses the strongest aggro‑control tools in the roster, enabling unmatched threat generation and stability
What’s Changing
The Fighter is being reshaped into a dedicated tank rather than one that also competes on damage. They’ll gain a broader aggro and survival toolkit, more ways to counter incoming damage, and a stronger retaliation suite. Overall damage output comes down in exchange.
