Cleric
Identity
The Cleric is a servant of their deity, bound by divine law. They look the part of a holy warrior, clad in heavy armor with shield and weapon, but their power flows through their words. Prayers, invocations, and divine commands are how their faith acts in the world: healing the wounded, shielding the faithful, and smiting the unworthy.
In a group, the Cleric is indispensable. Resurrections, healing, and divine protection make them the gold standard of healers; not flashy, but extraordinarily reliable. Their heavy armor means they can take hits while casting, and they can hold the line as an off-tank when the situation demands it.
Against the undead and other abominations, the Cleric is particularly formidable. Their deity's authority, channeled through spoken command, can drive the walking dead back or destroy them outright through holy word alone.

What’s Changing
The biggest additions to the Cleric are on the healing side, including a larger toolkit with more situational options instead of more of the same. It’s also receiving a clearer separation from the Paladin; where Clerics channel divine power through word and prayer, Paladins do so through martial devotion. Spells that blurred that line are going away.
Their heavy armor is also going to play a bigger role. They’ll be able to take hits while casting, and that's being leaned into rather than treated as a footnote.
More:
Situational options in their toolkit of heals
Durability from their armor, capable of absorbing hits while casting
Unique utility that separates them from other healers
