Update 35: August and September 2023

New Team Members

We added four new members to the team:

Tech

  • Game graphics optimizations resulting in much higher FPS

  • New character controller based on move and slide physics

  • Loading optimizations

  • Boats are almost fully working

  • Quest Journal for recording conversations with NPCs

  • Movement sync improvements

  • More ghost shader colors

  • You can now create your own guild at the Guild Registrar in Night Harbor (for a price!)

  • Added various command line commands for guilds like /guildpromote for promoting a players rank within the guild, etc.

  • Current supported ranks within a guild are leader, officer, member and recruit.

  • Added optional volume tags for abilities that require you to be in a volume with a given tag to use an ability.

  • Ctrl+Tab will now select the last two targets even if you have cleared your target with escape.

  • Added MnM/Volume Tool to visualize and manipulate database volumes in the editor.

  • Changed color of volume manipulators

  • Now pulling in volume table comment data from the database and updated volume editor tool to allow editing volume comments.

  • Volume components of type amo trigger now target a specific zone mud action instead of just triggering the nearest mud action. Populate Var3 field with the ID of the target mud action. This resolves an issue where nested volumes triggering mud actions would not work as expected.

  • Added /camp fast command (for gms).

  • Fixed error when creating a new volume with the volume tool.

  • Fixed error when deleting a volume from the volume tool.

  • Fixed the bounds of volumes not matching what is defined in the database.

  • Resolved an issue where nested volumes triggering mud actions would not work as expected.

  • Raised the point at which volumes check for entity position by half of a meter.

  • Fixed underwater renderer not working properly.

  • Fixed the ability to use style tags in bug report input fields.

  • Fixed background extending outside the frame on some button UIs and loading lore text box.

  • Fixed when attempting to cast beneficial abilities on an unfriendly target resulting in auto selfcasts, the range and LOS checks are still active, despite you being the target.

  • Fixed items with multiple charges being consumed after using one charge when the item proc had the consume tag.

  • Fixed classes in item descriptions not in alphabetical order.

  • Can add additional items to the trade window by clicking the item on the NPC after the trade window is already open.

  • Fixed mud actions not taking into account the action keyword properly. (i.e. /take could invoke /inspect if they matched the same conditions).

  • Re-created note panel using UGUI and added drag functionality.

  • Refectored some item/buff proc code to reduce duplicated logic.

  • Item proc code fixes and adjustments.

Design

  • Continued population work on Tel Ekir and Sungreet Strand

  • Finished data implementation for all Basic Armor and Weapon drops, and corresponding recipes and patterns

  • Started System Designs work for new RPG/survival elements

 

Character Art

  • Rats are now LERPing, we can assign difference colors to them!

  • As a test case, reworked the Ashira models to work in parallel with players, meaning they can wear player armor now and they have 'skin color' options. And the Ashira tunics can be worn by players.

  • Reinstated cool glowy eyes for Ghouls and assigned some skin options to them

  • Adjusted Halfling head sizes

  • Dwarves

Environment Art

  • Finalized major geometry at several points of interest within Sungreet Strand.

  • Began work on Fallen Watch

  • Implemented new shaders to allow for better texture blending and modification

Music

  • Finished Tel Ekir zone music

 

Website Redesign

Goblin has started work on a website redesign for us. It’s coming along nicely, and we’re looking forward to debuting it for you soon. Stay tuned!
